Morris, owner of Rockin M Rodeo decided that after buying and trading
bucking horses from the usual sources; ranchers, sale barns, and every
wild unbroke horse around, that the only way to achieve his goal of
owning the best bucking horses on the west coast was to raise his own. In 1997 he started with eight bred mares and a two year old stud from the Harry Vold Ranch that he named "The Duke". His bloodlines go back to the great producing stallion War Paint owned then by Brad Brettin, and later sold to Bud Kirby (Bar T Rodeo) at the 2002 NFR sale for $24,000.00. Acquiring mares from everywhere he could, Chuck crossed The Duke on these mares, then bred their fillies to a son of Wyatt Earp, (1997-98 Champion Saddle Bronc of the NFR) that we call Doc Holiday. In the fall of 2005 Chuck purchased a stud named "Robin's Wagon". He is out of the NFR mare Sheep Wagon owned by Ike Sankey, sired by NFR stallion Red Robin of Bud Kirbys. In the spring of 2006 Robin's Wagon was turned out with the fillies sired by Doc Holiday. Rockin M Rodeo is currently bucking many of their born to buck horses at rodeo's up and down the west coast. In 2004, #02 Taylor Made was voted CCPRA Saddle Bronc of the Year, and in 2005 #85 Tomahawk was voted CCPRA Saddle Bronc of the Year. We believe that our herd is just now getting to where we want them, and feel the future looks bright. Rockin M has proven horses and colts from these bloodlines for sale at all times.
